Sibel Köse stands as one of Turkey’s foremost jazz vocalists and educators. A graduate of TED Ankara College and the Architecture Department at METU,

she discovered her direction in jazz during her university years. She performed with jazz musicians, participated in international seminars and summer programs, and became involved in various festivals.

She participated in the Zamość International Jazz Vocalists Competition, where she received the first prize. Since 1987, she has performed as a soloist in a wide range of projects and ensembles from duos to large orchestras both in Türkiye and abroad. Throughout her career, she has appeared with numerous local and international musicians, performed at major festivals and art events, and taken part in albums, radio broadcasts, and television programs.

Köse has performed in more than twenty countries to date.

 

In 2008, she shared the stage with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Raul Midón, and Stacey Kent in the “Nina Simone Tribute” concert. She has participated in projects and recordings with many esteemed jazz masters, including Tuna Ötenel, Janusz Szprot, Önder Focan, Ali Perret, Jean-Loup Longnon, Dave Allen, Ricky Ford, and Michael Borstlap.

As a musician, she has also dedicated herself to education.

 

Since launching her jazz vocal workshops in Ankara in 1999 and continuing them in Istanbul, she has guided both musicians and jazz enthusiasts in developing their artistic voice. She further contributes to the growth and visibility of jazz by teaching in various institutions in Türkiye and by serving as an instructor at established jazz summer schools, masterclasses, and seminars abroad, especially in Poland.
